A huge Shout-out to our outstanding Barebow archer Craig who finished no2 in the UK rankings this year! But finishing number 1 in Hampshire. Craig has had an incredible year going from strength to strength, breaking 8 county records this season alone.

Craig started archery 7 years ago only shooting once a week for fun and trying different bow styles until covid hit... after covid he decided to up the training to three times a week and work really hard on his form and that's when he saw a huge increase in his scores.

After some some encouragment to enter competitions, Craig threw himself straight in at the deep end, entering straight into a WRS shoot in late may 2022 and finishing with 4th place. Since that point Craig has had a podium finish for every competition for the rest of 2022 outdoor season ending up in 23rd on the uk rankings.

Indoor season 22/23 Craig entered the SCAS Portsmouth postal league and ended up no1. This spurred on Craig to have one goal for 2023...to be in the top 10 in the UK rankings...

Craig's season started with 2 bronze medals then all his training finally kicked in and from then on he finished with golds for every WRS/UKRS entered.

After a total of 16 competitions, Craig finished the season out with a record number of medals.14 golds and 2 bronze medals. He then went on to shoot the National county teams tournament & brought home another 3 golds with my barebow team mates, and title of National Champion for Barebow.

We applaud Craig for his tremendous shooting and just goes to show that training really does pay off and bring in results. Congratulations Craig!
